The diversity of images created by
Susan Jørgensen extends from intimate studies of natural
objects to large scale panoramas and montages, revealing
the tenuous balance between culture and nature. Her
Midwestern woodland upbringing, the environmental
emphasis throughout her education, and her employment
with the Environmental Protection Agency in its early
years (1971–1974) have contributed to a passionate
respect for the land and its denizens. Her prints have
been exhibited at numerous galleries and in group
exhibitions; her work is included in the permanent
collection of the Santa Barbara Museum of Art and many
private collections. |
